A Gateway for NSW Snowy Mountains Ski Resorts, Jindabvne is our destination for our last fly-in in 2022.
Prior to the arrival of Europeans the district was inhabited by Thaua and Ngarigo Aboriginal people.
The Pendergast brothers, sons of an ex-convict, settled in the area in the 1820s. A flour mill was built by the Ryries in 1847, "followed by" a General Store and Post Office in 1862, School in 1882 and a Police Station in 1883.
Modern day Jindabyne is a new town created after the original settlement was drowned by the Snowy Mountains Hydro-electricity Authority in the late 1960s.
Lunch has been arranged at the Lake Jindabyne Hotel.
Return transfers have been arranged from JIndabyne Airport, which will work out to around $30 per person. Please plan to arrive by noon. The return trip will probably leave between 2:30 to 3pm.
